Brad G. Schumacher - President

Brad has over 25 years experience in the environmental consulting and construction industry and has held many positions such as Project Manager, Business Development and President of Marlin Environmental.  As one of the Co-Founders of Marlin Environmental, Brad led the company to tremendous growth during his 17 years as President.  At its height, Marlin Environmental was the largest and most successful Illinois LUST Fund Consultant in the State of Illinois. Through the years Brad has amassed many key relationships with people and companies inside the environmental and petroleum industries.  Those relationships have enabled Brad to learn and grow professionally allowing him to once again undertake yet another challenge of starting a new consulting company, Eagle Environmental Consultantswhich he started in 2016. Brad is involved with every aspect from client proposal and contract negotiation to managing the day to day operations. His true expertise and passion is in helping clients navigate the often complex and ever changing reimbursement process through the Illinois LUST Fund. Brad is a proud graduate of Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN.

Jeff Ogden - Geologist & Sr. Project Manager

Jeff has extensive experience with the Illinois LUST fund program in Illinois with almost 30 years experience helping clients. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Geology from Augustana College and Master of Science Degree in Geohydrology from Illinois State University. He holds  a License as a Professional Geologist in Illinois and Wisconsin. In addition he is OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER trained. His experience includes plan and budget development, along with regulatory negotiation to least expensive path to closure. Expert in the application of Part 742. His experience with voluntary cleanup program in Illinois, the Site Remediation Program, is similar but also includes in-depth statistical analyses and remediation of complex depositional environments such as fractured bedrock.

His remediation experience is just as extensive and includes design and deployment of conventional and innovative remediation technologies of petroleum, MGP, chlorinated solvent, polychlorinated biphenol, pesticide, and inorganic impacted media. Examples include pilot testing for soil vapor extraction, air sparge and dual phase extraction, excavation (on private property) bordering active railroad, insitu mixing, iSOC, surfactant enhanced product recovery, insitu chemical reduction/enhanced reductive dechlorination, and insitu chemical oxidation.

Larry Bertsch - Geologist & Sr. Project Manager

Larry graduated from Central Michigan with a B.S. Degree in Geology and a M.S. Degree in Geology from Northern Illinois University. Larry has been in the environmental consulting field for over 30 years and he has extensive experience in transactional due diligence including Phase II Reports and Cost to Cures.  His other experience includes the Illinois LUST and Site Remediation program.  Successful work for these programs including planning, completion of subsurface investigations and reporting.

Larry is also an Illinois licensed asbestos inspector and has completed numerous inspections and asbestos operations and maintenance plans. He has has also completed numerous facility decommissioning and demolition projects that encompassed identification of issues, preparing detailed plans, contractor RFPs, site management and reporting. Vapor intrusion assessments including soil gas, indoor air sampling and mitigation is one of Larry’s specialties. He has completed numerous radiological screening projects for USEPA Region 5 Chicago River North Thorium impact area. 

Larry’s remediation experience includes planning and installation of various systems. He has used product recovery, soil mixing, excavation, chemical oxidation, ZVI, biological and air stripping to achieve site cleanups and closures. 

Tim Elmore - Sr. Project Manager (LinkedIn)

Tim studied at Northern Illinois University in the area of Hydrogeology and Geophysics and has worked within the environmental industry for over 20 years and his duties include the development and implementation of groundwater monitoring and site investigation projects. He is well versed in the Illinois LUST Fund program, including underground storage tank assessments and remediation, site assessments, corrective action plans and site closures. Tim has successfully completed the 40 hour OSHA hazardous material/waste site operations and the required 8 hour refresher course. 

Kevin Kwil - Biologist and Project Manager

Kevin graduated from Texas A&M University in 2000 with a B.S. Degree in Biology and Environmental Science focusing on marine fisheries. He also has an Associates Degree in Forestry Service. Kevin was born and raised in the Chicago Area and after college worked in Galveston Texas for six years before returning home to Illinois. With over 15 years of experience working as a project manager, Keven’s tasks include preparing reports and work plans, performing site investigations and collecting, processing and evaluating data. In addition, Kevin interacts with agencies such as the OSFM, IEPA and IEMA, insuring projects are meeting all regulatory standards. 

Andrew Pellico - Staff Scientist

Drew graduated from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2021 with a B.S. in Environmental Science focusing on sustainability along with an ArcGIS certificate. Drew has worked at Eagle for over a year now and he is OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER trained along with the 8-hour refresher course. His fieldwork tasks include performing site investigations that involve soil and groundwater sampling along with free product remediation. His office tasks include CAD/mapping, evaluating and analyzing data from the field and reporting to the required regulatory agencies.

Donna Christides - Project Manager

Donna has worked in the environmental consulting industry since 1993 after graduating from Elmhurst University with degrees in both Geography and Business Administration. She has completed thousands of Phase I Environmental Site Assessments and desktop reviews on various real estate transactions throughout the country. She has assisted both buyers and sellers in real estate transactions and her expertise has helped clients from getting involved with an environmentally  compromised property. Donna has also conducted and /or managed asbestos surveys, subsurface investigations and UST removals. Her focus at Eagle Environmental Consultants is due diligence work for real estate transactions. She currently maintains her State of Illinois Asbestos Inspector License.
